Jamie
Manager
Since 2020, Jamie has been the proud owner and manager of Bicycle Workshop, taking the reins alongside his wife, Nadine, during one of the most demanding periods the cycling industry has ever seen. Stepping in as the world emerged from the height of the pandemic — a time defined by soaring demand and near-empty supplier shelves — it’s fair to say they didn’t just hit the ground running; they were already in full sprint.
Under Jamie’s leadership, Bicycle Workshop has gone from strength to strength. He has built a dedicated, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate team who care as much about bikes as the people who ride them. The shop itself has enjoyed a thoughtful refresh and rebrand — modern, welcoming, and forward-thinking — while staying true to the original values and community spirit that made it special in the first place.
Before swapping aircraft hangars for bike stands, Jamie built his career in the aviation and military engineering sectors, earning a reputation as one of the industry’s most skilled engineering and quality control managers. Precision, high standards, and an uncompromising approach to quality were part of his daily life — and those same principles now underpin everything at Bicycle Workshop. From workshop standards to customer service, his meticulous eye ensures nothing leaves the shop unless it’s exactly as it should be.
At heart, Jamie has always been drawn to machines that move. Bikes, motorbikes, cars — if it has wheels or an engine and can take you somewhere, he’s interested. That lifelong passion is more than a hobby; it’s the driving force behind the business. He understands not just the mechanics of a bike, but the freedom, adventure, and simple joy that come with riding one.
Professional, hands-on, and quietly competitive when it comes to doing things properly, Jamie leads with integrity, expertise, and just enough cheek to keep the workshop atmosphere lively. Whether he’s fine-tuning a high-performance road bike or helping a young rider choose their very first set of wheels, his goal is always the same: deliver quality, build trust, and keep the community riding.

Lucy
Assistant Manager
If Jamie is the engine room, then Lucy is the steady compass that keeps everything pointing in the right direction. As the longest-standing member of the team at Bicycle Workshop, Lucy has been part of the story since the very beginning.
Her husband, Andy, founded Bicycle Workshop back in 2014, just across the square in a much smaller premises. When the doors officially opened in April 2015, the shop specialised in retro, vintage, and refurbished second-hand bikes — breathing new life into old frames and building a loyal local following from day one.
Although Lucy didn’t formally step into her role until 2017, she had long been a quiet force behind the scenes — supporting, problem-solving, organising, and helping wherever needed. In truth, Bicycle Workshop has always had a little bit of Lucy woven into its fabric.
With a background in retail up to management level, experience running her own successful gardening business, and a creative streak as an artist who teaches workshops, Lucy brings an eclectic — and invaluable — skill set to the shop. She combines commercial awareness with creativity, practical organisation with people-first warmth. Whether she’s assisting Jamie with the day-to-day running of the business, helping customers find exactly what they need, or adding thoughtful touches that make the shop feel welcoming and distinctive, Lucy brings balance and heart to the operation.
Calm under pressure, naturally organised, and wonderfully personable, she has a knack for making customers feel at ease — whether they’re seasoned cyclists or nervously buying their first bike in years. Her diverse experience means she can turn her hand to almost anything, often with a creative flourish.
In short, Lucy doesn’t just help run Bicycle Workshop — she helps shape its character.

Dillon
Workshop Manager
Every great workshop needs a master of the tools — and at Bicycle Workshop, that role belongs to Dillon.
Dillon joined the team in 2020, bringing with him solid experience from his previous roles as a cycle mechanic with Evie and Zebra Hire. Rumour has it that both businesses mysteriously folded shortly after his departure — which we can only take as proof that he was the glue holding everything together.
An integral cog in the Bicycle Workshop machine, Dillon’s knowledge of the intricate workings of bicycles — from vintage classics to the latest high-performance models — is seriously impressive. If it turns, clicks, spins, or occasionally refuses to cooperate, Dillon understands exactly why. Much of that expertise has been honed not just on the workshop floor, but through countless hours of research, technical deep-dives, and, yes, more than a few late evenings spent absorbing the finer details of bike mechanics online. For Dillon, learning isn’t a task — it’s part of the passion.
But his understanding of bikes doesn’t stop at the workbench. Dillon has been part of the competitive cycling scene in Jersey for several years and thrives on a challenge. He knows what it feels like to push both rider and machine to their limits — experience that feeds directly into the precision and care he brings to every service and build.
And as if that weren’t enough, he’s also a highly accomplished skateboarder, holding his own at a serious level. Cycling and skating aren’t just hobbies for Dillon — they’re part of who he is. His passion has taken him beyond Jersey, travelling across Europe for countless trips dedicated to both disciplines, always chasing the next challenge, the next course, the next perfect line.
Focused, knowledgeable, and quietly competitive, Dillon brings energy, technical excellence, and genuine enthusiasm to the workshop every single day. Whether he’s rebuilding a cherished vintage frame or fine-tuning a race-ready machine, you can be sure it’s in expert hands.

Allan
Trainee Mechanic
Every strong team needs fresh energy — and Allan brings exactly that to Bicycle Workshop.
As our newest team member, we couldn’t be happier to have Allan on board. While he may be the latest addition to the workshop floor, his passion for cycling is anything but new. Allan has been a dedicated rider for many years, clocking up countless early-morning miles across Jersey’s lanes, tackling all-terrain routes, and spending plenty of time in the saddle in Spain and the Alps, to name just a few. For him, cycling isn’t just exercise — it’s exploration, challenge, and a way of life.
Before joining Bicycle Workshop, Allan put his very capable hands to a wide range of professions, including retail, horticulture, teaching, and more. This varied background gives him a refreshingly eclectic skill set: practical, patient, people-focused, and always willing to learn. Whether he’s supporting the workshop team, assisting customers, or getting stuck into the finer details of bike mechanics, Allan brings enthusiasm and a calm, thoughtful approach to everything he does.
It’s been an absolute pleasure welcoming him into the team, and we’re proud to be supporting the next step in his journey as he heads off this spring to complete his Cytech Bicycle Mechanics qualification. With his dedication, curiosity, and genuine love of cycling, we have no doubt he has a bright future in the trade.
In short, Allan may be our trainee — but he’s already proving to be a vital part of the Bicycle Workshop family.

Josh
Assistant
“Assistant” doesn’t quite do justice to Josh — because he’s far more than that.
Josh joined Bicycle Workshop in 2023 as our very first Project Trident student from Les Quennevais School, and quite honestly, we couldn’t believe our luck. From day one, he brought enthusiasm, curiosity, and a natural confidence that immediately stood out. Within two weeks, it felt less like we were hosting a student and more like we’d gained a new team member.
During his placement, Josh proved himself not only easy to work with and genuinely great company, but also technically capable and eager to learn. His skills in the workshop have continued to develop at an impressive pace — a keen eye, steady hands, and the kind of practical mindset that you simply can’t teach. He listens, absorbs, and then quietly gets on with the job — often to a standard well beyond his years.
When his Project Trident placement came to an end, saying goodbye wasn’t really an option. We were delighted to offer him a Saturday role — and even more delighted when he said yes.
Outside the shop, Josh is building a name for himself on the local cycling circuit. From cyclocross to mountain biking and road racing, he embraces every discipline with equal determination, constantly sharpening his skills across different terrains and formats. He has a genuine appreciation for bikes of all eras, understanding both their heritage and their potential — a quality that fits perfectly with the spirit of the workshop.
What’s most impressive about Josh, though, isn’t just his growing technical ability or sporting promise — it’s his attitude. He approaches challenges with dedication, humility, and quiet drive. Whatever direction he chooses in life, we have no doubt he’ll pursue it with focus, integrity, and plenty of momentum.
In short, Josh may have started as a student — but he’s firmly part of the Bicycle Workshop team.
